Hati was trapped under a curse for most of her life, facing the reality that she would forever remain a child, tormented by endless nightmares and visions of darkness. Friends came and went, and she eventually embraced the fate of an eternity alone. However, with the coming of a strange moon, she felt something shift and change within her. It was hardly noticed at first, little more than a faint ache in her joints, but when a month passed excitement flooded her heart at the realization she had grown two inches. The curse broken, Hati was free once more to age as the others did, growing up into adulthood, but finding life to be no more kinder than before. She found love, or at least what she thought was love, and had an egg. It wasn't long after that her mate left, vanishing with the tide and leaving her to care for an aquatic child. She adored the viscling with her whole heart and wanted nothing more than the best for her, but it was not to be. In the shade of dusk her daughter was stolen away, swept into the waves never to be seen again. Heart broken, she became a nomad, wandering land and sea in search of a sign for where her lost child had gone, finding nothing. When the war awoke, she did her best to remain neutral. It wasn't until a friend, Ren, was in danger that she finally stepped up and declared where she stood, fighting to defend the frail female alongside a male, Rowan. They fled to a sanctuary for those with magic, where Hati found comfort for her loss and was able to slowly, and painfully, let go of her lost child.
